London 2012 - Pray Anywhere

Ok so the Olympics is still going and Team GB are still winning the odd medal. I'm finding I'm not watching it as much now as I was last week as its all getting a bit dull now.

Don't get me wrong, I love sport and the Olympics have been great but I think the BBC have over killed it now and to be honest I'm starting to get annoyed at the repeats of events every five minuets.

The one thing I have found this week is that with all that's going on I have suddenly realised that I haven't given much time to pray or read my bible. I also haven't blogged which is sometimes a great way for me to relax and have time to get my thoughts straight.

Then I remembered Daniel. He would pray to god anywhere he could. When the King told people that they where no longer aloud to pray Daniel refused to stop and would pray anywhere he was. So maybe I don't have an excuse.

Some times we need to refresh our faith and look to God for a ''top up''. Its also OK to pray for time to put aside for prayer and reading the bible. I'm not great a praying (especially out loud) but I include this in my prayers and ask for help.

With the BBC coverage of The Games it has been virtually impossible to avoid it. So How have I avoided God this week? and how am I going to make sure I have time in the future? I'm gonna try and follow Daniels example and when I think of it I'm going to do it straight away where ever I am.

London 2012 - Day ?? (Bridge)

i seem to have got my days muddled up and am 1 or 2 days behind. Yesterday Team GB won 2 Gold medals so wanted to make sure that was noted, before I tried to get back on track with my days. So now I'm going to try and cover up the mistake or at least try and make it right.

I'm sorry about this. I was not counting the Opening Ceremony as Day 1 and Saturday was Day 1 as that's when the first medal was won. Also I'm reporting on the day before so yesterday was Day 5 and Today is Day 6 ..... I think.

We will always make mistakes and do bad things that go against Gods will. The bible calls these thing ''sin'' and we ALL do it. Nobody on this earth is without sin and and those people that say they are committing sin by saying they are.

So how do we put these mistakes right? Well I hope I covered up the Day mix up well as I felt the best thing to do was realise my fault and firstly put my hands up and say "yep, I was wrong". Second thing is to apologise, not only to others but to God.

Sin can be a scary word, but we need to know its something that happens in life and even when we try and live without sin it will try and find away back in.

God Knows we are going to sin. He didn't want us too, but he knows we do. So what did he do to make it OK. well we have to find a way to God, but there is a massive gap between us and him. When we sin the gap seems to get wider. So God created a way to cross that gap easily.

See, he sent Jesus to earth to ultimately die in the most painful way possible, he was hung to the cross and left to die a slow death.

But why do Christians keep going on about this?....... Because Jesus came to die for all the sin we do. Dieing on the cross was to take the punishment for us.

To become a christian we need to know Jesus and know he died for our sins so that we could have forgiveness for them.

Jesus said ''No one comes to the father except through me'' or in other words, before we can be with our father (God) in heaven. we need to ask Jesus into our lives and ask him to forgive us.

So mistakes can happen, but we can turn to Jesus as he bridges the gap between us and God.

London 2012 - Justice Done?

The Badmington players that tried to lose the match yesturday have be removed from the Games after it was ruled they failed to follow the Olympic Standards and "not using one's best efforts to win a match".

This Is a great moment for the Olympics and hope it sends a message out to all athletes.

What a great rule... lets all try and live to that rule.

London 2012 - Day 4

So as the Olympics pick up speed Team GB once again pocketed a medal in the Equestrian (which confused me as I was thinking Aquatics but It had nothing to do with horses swimming)

But the Story of the day that stood out to me was the Badminton and two teams both playing each other and both wanted to lose. This was because they wanted the easier game in the next round, and reportedly where serving into the net and serving out so they didn't win.

Today I heard there was talk of taking action against these teams but they haven't broken any rule so its will be hard to take action. Maybe the Olympic committee can come into action and over ride the International Badminton Committee as this type of tactics don't adhere to the Olympic morals.

If one of these teams do go on to win Gold, would they have won? Ive always said that Id rather loose than win by foul means. Sport should be played for Enjoyment and fitness and yes of course you should always play to win and give your best.

Its the same in my business. Id rather hold my head up high knowing I have always been honest and fair rather than tried to make an extra few quid by ripping people off.

Remember God knows everything about you, he knows your thoughts and he know you future. Also we know ourselves and if we can hold our head up and say Ive tried my best and happy with ourselves then we will be winners. People can judge us, but the they can take action against us, but the most inportant is how we judge ourselves and how God judges us.
